Val Lowe and Katie Tillman founded Friends…food with a flair in the early 90’s when they opened their very successful, high energy downtown eatery called Friends. They operated the downtown eatery for almost 15 years. In that time they integrated the ingredients they were producing on their farm into the restaurant, catering and value added items. This was probably Anderson’s first taste of “farm to fork”. After many years in the restaurant business both downtown, and on the lake, the two have decided to focus their energy where their passion lies, catering!
Having completed over 3000 events, with guest lists from 5 to 2000 people in venues as far away as Miami Florida, there is not much we have not done. Our philosophy about food is best stated by Virginia Woolf when she said, “One cannot live well, love well or sleep well if one has not dined well.”
Our role as a caterer is to listen to our client, give advice as needed, and produce your event as perfectly and stress free as possible. We believe the process, as well as the event should be fun. We are truly thankful for you, your guests, and all the business that comes our way. If there is anything we can do to make your event better, please do not hesitate to ask.
We live in the Upstate because we chose to. We believe in sustainable, local , safe agricultural practices. Our community is important to us and we support it in every way possible.
